The Truth about Satan

Satan doesn't hate humanity because we're weak. He hates humanity because of what we were created to be.

The same angels who stood in God's presence and fell saw something in mankind worth desiring. Genesis 6 tells us that the "sons of God" saw the daughters of men were beautiful and took wives for themselves. There were heavenly beings who looked at humanity with desire instead of honoring God's boundaries. The fallen angels looked at earth. The immortal looked at the mortal. And they wanted what was never theirs to have.

Now think about Satan. He was created with splendor. He walked among the stones of fire. He saw the glory of God with his own eyes. Yet he can never become what you are. He can never be made in God's image. He can never be called a son or daughter of God through redemption. He can never be adopted into God's family. He can never have the inheritance that belongs to those who belong to Christ.

His rebellion cost him everything. Your salvation gives you everything. So don't mistake his hatred for indifference. His hatred is personal.

Every lie he whispers...

Every temptation he sends...

Every accusation he throws...

Every attempt to destroy your marriage, your children, your joy, your witness...comes from a defeated enemy watching people receive what he forfeited forever.

He spends his existence trying to vandalize what he cannot possess. He cannot bear to watch dust be crowned with glory. He cannot stand that the Creator wrapped Himself in human flesh instead of angelic nature. He cannot stomach that one day redeemed humanity will reign with Christ while he awaits judgment.

His war has never just been against God. It has always been against God's image in you. That is why he works so hard to make you hate yourself. If he can convince the image bearer that they are worthless, he has, in his mind, defaced the masterpiece.

Don't believe the lie.

You are not hated because you're insignificant. You are hated because he knows exactly what you are worth.
